Kids craft day

Today I ran a kids craft day in Methven with 12 attending. Was a full on day. We made 5 projects which some could be for Mothers Day. Here are a couple of the projects we made.
This album I made several years ago called Carousel mini album .

This is the front of a handbag album. This paper is still available in the Clearance rack. It was a hostess only dsp a few years back. The colours are lovely.

This is the inside with two inserts.
Not everyone used the same sides of the paper that I did..
I didn't quite have enough of the same dsp for everyone, so had one made with current dsp Venetian Romance and Midnight Muse.

The kids also got to make a photo frame using the backing card from our dsp.

This is my daughters frame. In her stash she produced these flowers to put on her frame. Great way to use up unused retired dsp.

This makes a nice male card.I saw a card with this design made from Kay Kalthoff. I have changed the colours from what she used seen here.

Peaceful petals

I  really like this Hardwood stamp ( I think I have said that in a previous post). Here I have used it a bit differently .I saw a card made by Debbie Naylor seen here that showed her using the Hardwood stamp in this way. i have changed the colours and used a different flower on my card.

Exciting News

StampinUp have announced that they are bringing Becky Higgins Project Life to StampinUp. The Project Life will have the SU colours. This is great news for scrapbookers as Project Life seems to be the new and quick way to scrapbook. So roll on July 1st when the catalogue comes out with the Project life products.

Baby card

One ofthe ladies attending my card class asked if we could make a card suitable for a baby shower. I haven't made any baby cards or ages so went scrolling through card images and saw a card with this design. i changed the colours to suit a boy or girl baby card.This is the original card that I saw to get this idea from Lisa Young.

Daffadil card

It is my mother in laws birthday tomorrow and she asked for daffadil bulbs for a present.
I saw this card and thought that would be ideal for my mother inlaw ( sorry I can't give credit to who made it as I can't find the link).
This card showcases the new scissors available in the seasonal catalogue. I'm really enjoying this stamp Hardwood. Makes a great background for flowers.
The pot is made from a square piece of cardstock with sides trimmed  and the top is made from the window punch with a bit of daubing along the edges.
I have used the petite petals punch as well as a small flower punch from the Itty Bitty shape punch pack.

envelope mini album.

This is an envelope mini album.I have made it using the envelope punch board. 6x6 size. I got the idea and instructions from Tina Gillepsie blog seen here.

I used 4 envelopes to make this album about my daughter. Then I had 4 inserts as well with additional pictures. The spine on the album allows for the extra bulk of the additional inserts and all the photos.
At my craft day last week the ladies got to make this album.

card box

Last week I ran a craft day making projects using the envelope punch board. This is a gift box that we made that holds up to 6 cards.
I have used the Natural Composition Speciality designer paper for this box. it makes a nice sturdy box. Instead of putting velcro or a fastener round it I have made a belly band that slides off.
This box fits standard 6 x 4 cards in it.

People like us

I saw this lovely stamp set used in a set of cards made like this,using a triangle piece of dsp . ( Unfortunately can't find the original designer).The stamp set is called People like us.
I liked the way that it showcases this stamp set in the latest seasonal catalogue. I used my aqua painters to colour it in and the stampinwrite markers to colour the border round the words.

Male tag swaps

My team swaps for last Wednesday night. All 20 of them. Had to be a male tag.
I used the new scallop topper tag punch with baked brown sugar and midnight muse. I embossed the stamp with pool party embossing powder.The words are from Starburst Sayings.

Here is the collection of swaps that I received. All are really good. well done ladies. We had a good time at our team gathering with Emma ,StampinUp manager for NewZealand.

Spring like card

I really like this new stamp Hardwood.So many different cards that you can make with it. I have seen several cards made like this one using just a couple of the panels from the stamp cut to make it look like a fence.

Have just had a lovely craft day here in Methven using the envelope punch board. Made three projects which included mini album, box for a set of cards and a file card. Will show these projects over the next week or so.

Have team gathering (shinding) in Christchurch to night where our NZ country manger is going to be at. so looking forward to what she has in store for us.
As part of the meeting we make swaps. Tonights swaps had to be a male tag. Can't wait to see what everyone has made.
Right better get the tea on or I won't be going anywhere.
