Craft Market

On Sunday held in conjunction with a Farmers market their was a craft market in Methven. We had our stalls outside. Then just as it was about to start it started drizzling.(This photo wa taken just before that). Fortunately another stall holder had a spare gazebo which a couple of us were abl;e to get under. So here is my table of goodies.Bit of everything.
Here are some of the santa gift boxes I made. ( Have seen a few on other blogs). they are big enough to fit a Roses chocolate. Great for the tree or as a table setting.I have made lots of these Candy Cane mice these past month. I gave one to each of the children in my Bible in schools class, plus have had two stalls lately selling them . Always a hit with the children.

Welcome Christmas

This card is made from the stamp set Welcome Christmas which is half price this month. Great value. Today is the first day that I have used this set. This card I have cased fromJen Sannes blog. I made three cards all with different colours.
I can't decide which colour combo I like the best: Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red or Wild Wasabi on Early Expresso.

Non Traditional Christmas colours

Do you like my card without the traditional Christmas colours? I found this colour combination on my colour coach.
Island Indigo, Baja Breeze and Rich Razzleberry.
I have used the Merry and Type Christmas stamp set.
Still making my last few Christmas cards. Seem to be a bit later getting them out this year.

Glitter stockings

I taught this card in my last class yesterday, its a design I have seen on some blogs. The ladies loved the Glitter paper that was used for the top of the stocking and heels and toes.
This Glitter paper is one of the new products in the mini catalogue that came out on the 1st December. Also comes in red as well.
Colours I have used are Riding Hood Red and Lucky lemonade.

Something different

Whilst on holiday on the Gold Coast I found a craft shop at Ashmore ( right near we were staying). A little shop packed full of all sorts of goodies. I saw this product which is very much like our Peelcraft and liked how it was used. So I bought a few sheets and some gel pens and in the evenings at our camp I coloured in these words. I have put the stickers onto Acetate to enable me to colour in the image.
Then using SU papers and cardstock and ribbon have put the card together.
Letters to Santa dsp has been used.

Photo Cube

On Sunday afternoon we had a Christmas afternoon tea with Santa and a group of ladies who all do scrapbooking together. We have started a tradition of having Christmas party at the end of the year and with all of us being very crafty we have to make a gift for another recipient. Names are drawn out of a hat.
This is the gift that I made. Its a photo cube. I saw this made on UStamp with Dawn in the Big Shot Brilliance round designed by Kirsten Brown.
It involves a 6 pieces of 6x6 dsp folded in a fancy way which achieves the diamond shape on the cube for your photos.
Then with a little decoration its finished. To give out the gifts Santa came. We could sit on his knee and he asked us all what we would like for Christmas and what we were doing for the day. Lots of laughs. Lovely afternoon with lots of yummy food and a you could have a wee boat ride as well as the house was a t a lake that had many canals with houses backing onto it. Thanks Faith for a lovely afternoon.

No stamped Christmas card

Yes this is a Christmas card where I haven't had to ink up a stamp. I have used Letters to Santa dsp to get the postage stamp images.
The lace border looks great with ribbon going through it (thanks Adrienne for the idea).

Fun with Petal Cone diez

The Petal Cone is one of the Big Shot Diez that is discounted this month. I have had a little play with the die and these are a couple of the cool things you can make it.
They would make great Christmas gifts for teachers, friends , workmates.

And wouldn't Santa look good sitting on your table on Christmas day fill of goodies maybe instead of a Christmas cracker. Endless possibilities.

This petal cone item was made by Pauline for our last team meeting Secret Santa. Inside it she had made another petal cone using vellum which had the gift it. So cool.
If you would like this diez at reduced cost contact me before the end of November.

Handbag Album

On Saturday I was invited to do a craft at a 12 year old girls birthday party. There were four girls. I decided to get them to make this handbag album. Two girls made their bag using this Hostess speciality paper and two made theirs with Berry Blossom paper ( sorry no pictures unfortunately.)
It was a lot of fun and the girls were pleased with the results at the end.
The base is made with 2 large square enevlops that SU sold a couple of years ago in Chocolate chip colour.( I still had a few left).
Thee was lots of taping and gluing involved then the girls could decorate the inside as they liked.
Thanks Debby for inviting me .

Christmas tree ideas

These are three of the Christmas decorations that Carolyn Young shared with us at out team meeting on Wednesday. They are so easy to make and yet each one is very effective.
This red and green decoration was made using the Perfect pennants die.

This next one was made with ribbon and a wooden curtain circle for rails. The ribbon is wound round the ring using two different colours. Doesn't the Island Indigo look fabulous with the delightful daffadil ribbon.

This ball was made using the new fabric and a polystyrene ball. Lines are made longways down the ball , material is cut to be able to be poked into the lines. Then with some ribbon wrapped round where the fabric is inserted into the ball and there you have it a lovely ball to hang on your Christmas tree.
Thanks Carolyn for your sharing your lovely ideas with us.

My gift

This is the gift that I received from my secret santa ( lovely gift Sharyn, thanks).
Its a purse made with the lovely Mocha Morning Speciality dsp.

Inside were some lovely wee treats.

Secret santa gift

Last night at our team meeting we did Secret Santas. We all made a gift using mostly StampinUp products. The variety of gifts was amazing. Some very creative and talented ladies in our team.
This is the gift that I made. I had made one last year using last years dsp, so thought I'd make another using this years dsp Letters to Santa.
I have used the square duo die for the Big Shot and the large circle scallop punch in the centre and the Timeless Alphabet for the letters.

Later I will show the lovely gift I received

Also at our team meeting our make n take was something a little different. Not the usual card that we make. Instead Sonia showed us and then we had a turn to ice a Christmas cake ( muffin size ) using royal icing and then either embossing it in a folder to get a pattern on top. ( No you don't put the icing and folder through the big shot we used a rolling pin) or we could paint up a stocking from the stitched stocking set with food colouring and lightly stamp the icing. Great idea, thanks Sonia. Will have to try this technique at home.
Carolyn wowed us with her lovely Christmas decorations. Will endeavour to show some of these later.
A great night. Makes we want to get out to my room and get creating after seeing all the fabulous ideas.

Team Swap

Tonight we have a team meeting and the theme is Christmas. If we are doing swaps we are to use the stitched stocking stampset whichever way we like. (That is it doesn't have to be Christmas ).
This is what I came up with.
I have used Old olive and marina mist with dsp from Letters to santa.
Also tonight we are doing secret santas so we have to make a gift for someone whose name we had been given . Will be fun to see what everyone comes up with.
Will show you later what I have made just in case my recipient sees my blog before tonight!

Boho Blossom card

This is one of the swaps that I received at Convention in May. It was made by Colleen Cremin. I reproduced it and taught it at my class earlier in the week. My ladies really liked this card and some even made it to be a Christmas card. Lots of punching but the effect is lovely. Thanks Colleen.

I have used stamps from Creative Elements, Occasional quotes and Upsy Daisy to make this card. Designer paper is from Pocketful of Posies.

Gate fold card

I have seen a few of these Gate Fold cards recently so thought I'd make and teach this card for my last class. Well..... it was quite a bit of work but I think the result looked good. The panels have been embossed on white with the Vintage wallpaper folder. Then I have brayered one side with Cherry Cobbler and then cut out.
I have made a perfect scalloped edge square here for the front.
Do you have times when you are teaching a class when things don't work out. Well this is one thing that did not work. I had cut everyones square to 2 3/8" like mine( for the scalloped edge diamond in the front), and yet none of the squares ended up like mine. I had one lady try and then I thought perhaps I had better do the rest. Even I couldn't get them looking like my sample. One lady kindly said that because I was in a class situation and not sitting down in my craft room that is why it wasn't working. Well I think she must have been right because the next day when I was doing up some kits it worked perfectly in my craft room.
Here is the inside of the of the card.
Colours I have used are Early expresso, Crumb cake, and white card stock.
The bauble on the front has been embossed with the new embossing powder Wild Wasabi. Looks really good.

Peace on Earth

I'm really enjoying this Christmas paper Letters to Santa. The colours are quite different from what we have had previous years and is so versatile . I'm looking forward to doing my Christmas scrapbook pages using this dsp. Meanwhile I am busy making cards using the other papers.
This card is stamped with the Merry and Type stamp set. The colours I have used are Marina Mist, Real red, wild Wasabi and Early Expresso. The base of the card is Crumb cake.

Well I'm off to a Brownie camp now with my daughter. Awesome Overnighter is what it is called. There are alot of activities packed in for the 24 hours. Should be fun.

Christmas cards

I've been making some Christmas cards today. The two I am showing today are reinventions of some that I made last year using this years designer paper Letters to Santa. So I have two cards with different colours but the same design. This card here I have used the Petals a Plenty embossing folder and have lightly coloured the dots in the centre of the petals . Gives it added dimension.

The second Card the bauble has been embossed with the new Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. Looks good . More vibrant.

We're finally back from a lovely holiday in Australia. certainly notice a big drop in temperatures. Brrr its cold here.
So back into the crafting as I have several classes coming up a stall and workshops.
Here is a gift crad holder that I have made which I totally cased off CLaire Daly here
Clair has used dsp from last year whilst I have used dsp from the new catalogue that is great for Christmas projects.

This is what the gift holder looks like inside. I have used the envelope die and the Big shot to make the inside.
Colours used are Marina Mist, Early expresso and Letters to Santa dsp.

Another use for the stitched Stocking

As promised yesterday here is another use for the stitched stocking punch and stamp set. You can make baby cards from them. How cool is that!
You just cut a bit off above the ankle to below the scalloped edge of the stocking and make a short sock or boottee.
The background paper is from First Edition dsp.
Colours I have used are: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue.

This will be my last post for at least two weeks as we are heading away on holiday tonight. Off across the ditch to Australia. So I hope you have a good holiday break .We are certanily looking forward to a break as it has been a very busy and stressful few months for us.Take care.

Jingle all the way

Last Monday I held my second Christmas card class and this is one of the cards that I taught I have cased it off a card that my sister-in-law had made using non SU supplies. Can you guess what the boots are made from?
A top note cut in half!
I used a 3/4" and 13/8" punch for the shape. I have used retired dsp for the stockings. And I have cheated and used peelcraft for the words.
This is another version of the first card that I made. One of my ladies cut the top note in half again to make it look like two feet. And this time we have stamped words on the card.I have also put little bells on the boots too, on top of the ribbon.

Lace Border punch Card

This is a card that we made at a workshop I had this week. I wanted to demonstrate the different ways to use this Lace Border punch.
It is very effective on a card with the only stamping required is for the sentiment.
The lace border is punched out twice in two colours ( Basic gray and calypso coral) .The flowers are made from the border and are glued on top of the basic gray lace border. Rhinestones are placed in the centre of the flower. I embossed the white with petal a plenty embossing folder.
Just for you is from Just Believe stamp set.
