Mini Convention

On Sataurday our team, First Kiwi Stampers held a mini convention just out of Christchurch. Four of us had been to Melbourne to convention their, so we shared what we had learnt and seen, with our team members. It was a really good day including making two make n takes. The above card is the one that I shared. For those of you who went to Melbourne you will recognise it as one of the make n takes that we made except a different stamp set has been used. The other make n take was from a swap that we had received at convention.
Thanks to Emma from StampinUp we had Prize Patrol as well, and depending on your coloured ribbon on your name badge you received a prize.
In the afternoon we had time to make our projects and share with each other things that we have made.
It was a lovely day and we hope to do it next year too. Thanks Rebecca for organising it all.

Shimmer Mist layout

After seeing Delys Cram presentation at Convention using the Shimmer Mist paint I was keen to have ago. In this layout I have used Champagne Mist ( Sorry a bit hard to see with the carpet being similar colour) on black cardstock. I used screwed up gladwrap to apply the mist to the sides of the layout.
I used Vintage Vogue and Tangerine ink to make flowers round edge.
Delys showed us another use for the Beviled windowpanes. Mix white shimmer mist with shavings of coloured pastel and apply to side of the panes after they have had tombow glue applied. I stamped my windowpane with word "you" in Stazon ink.
Butterflies made using bigshot dies and Brights dsp.
Journaling written on the new decorative punch in the latest mini catalogue.
You can see what Delys did at convention here

April Scrapbooking Layout

I'm a bit behind in my Scrapbook layouts for Crafters Anonymous. So here is my April layout of Easter, the hunt for Easter Eggs. Both adults and children had fun searching the campsite that we were staying at for Easter eggs. then at the end they evened them out so everyone had about the same amount.
I have used the Autumn Spice dsp on this layout. Letters from the Timeless Junior Alphabet. Some of the eggs are from Natures Walk stamp set.
Now I had better start on my May layout.

Convention Swap

I have just returned from SU Convention in Melbourne. I had a fabulous time, lots of fun , saw lots of amazing WOW's and met many other demonstrators.
With the convention being over three days the time still went tooooooo fast.
Anyway here is the swap that I made. Paula Dobson in the previous round of UStamp had used this technique in her projects. So this is what I came up with . I also had another swap that had yellow flowers on it with Night of Navy brayered Lattice folder and night of Navy scalloped border with Old Olive leaves.
While at conference we were told of a new promotion that is starting on the 23rd of May till 30th June. Any hostess who hosts a workshop during that time and has sales over $550 will receive an extra $100 of free merchandise.Wow that sounds so good. So if you would like to host a workshop and see some of the WOW's that were made at Convention call me today and book your workshop.

Another Inlaid card

I have seen several circle cards that have been made and then put through the Lattice folder so at my last card class the ladies got to try this technique. I soooo love the Lattice folder it really gives a plain card pop. This card is a great way to use up scraps of cardstock. All the ladies in my class had different patterns using the same circles. Lots of fun and ideas.
Well this is my last blog for the week as I am off to SU convention in Melbourne on Monday.
I still have swaps to finish. I should have stuck to the KISS technique! ( Keep it Simple Stupid!!).Never mind we'll get there in the end. Looking forward to meeting other demos and all the new ideas we will learn.
Have a good week.
I will post Deals of the Week on this blog before I go and you can still email me your orders.

Party this Way

My daughters birthday is coming up so these are the invites that I made for her friends. They had to be different colours as two of the girls are twins and they are often identified by their favourite colours. So then we thought we'd make all the invites in the girls favourite colours. I got the idea for these invites from Bron Heslop in the last round of UStamp Big Shot Brilliance .
Another idea for the use of the envelopes that go through the Big Shot.
I have embossed the plain cardstock through the Lattice embossing folder.
