At the weekend I attended a scrapbooking retreat with a bunch of ladies from around the mid Canterbury region. On Friday when I left home I wasn't sure whether I was going for the day or night or for the whole weekend. It all depended on the weather as to whether I was summoned home for harvesting. But unfortunately for the arable farmers around ,there was a storm on Friday evening which brought down rain and hail in places. This is definitely not a good year for getting crops in.
Anyway it meant they I stayed two nights at the retreat and got heaps of scrapbooking done.
I was also able to teach a card class as well.
This is one of the cards that I taught. My theme was a card for a family. So taught a male card, card for a girl and a boy. But due to a practice evacuation I ran out of time to teach the last card.
( We never had practice evacuations or big emphasis on exits before February 22nd).
This card involved sponging, masking and stamp off.And again the use of the First Edition dsp. Also highlighted the use of the Bakers Twine.
We had a fabulous time at the retreat great bunch of ladies. On the Saturday night we all dressed up for a banquet which quite spontaneously became a wedding breakfast. (All because of the way the tables were laid out and who was sitting in the middle seat at the top table). We had speeches from the 'BrideGroom', 'mother of the bride' ,'flower girl' . Their were 'telegrams ' and dancing.
We all enjoy playing Scrap bingo, for a chance to win a prize. Very competitive game.
Thanks Sonia for a fabulous weekend. Role on next years one.
ooooo this is one of the nicest cards I've seen done with this stampset! might need to case it! xxx
