Lace Border punch Card

This is a card that we made at a workshop I had this week. I wanted to demonstrate the different ways to use this Lace Border punch.
It is very effective on a card with the only stamping required is for the sentiment.
The lace border is punched out twice in two colours ( Basic gray and calypso coral) .The flowers are made from the border and are glued on top of the basic gray lace border. Rhinestones are placed in the centre of the flower. I embossed the white with petal a plenty embossing folder.
Just for you is from Just Believe stamp set.

I have used threee of the new incolours on this card: Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Pool Party. Have teamed these colours up with Chocolate chip and Sahara sand.
The middle tree is popped up with Dimensionals. And of course Ive used embossing folders; Petals a plenty and Lattice folder.
Greetings from Curly Cute words. Very effective card.

Another Mother of Pearl card

As promised on Wednesday here is another card that I have used shimmer paint on and then sponged over before stamping my image from Forever Young.
I have used frost white shimmer paint on the shimmer paper. I sponged the card with Marina mist and Old Olive. The words are from another stamp set Fifth Avenue.
Love the effect.

Mother of Pearl cards

Last night I did a workshop where I demonstrated this Mother of Pearl technique using Shimmer paint. I also showed other ways to use the shimmer paint on stamped images and how to use it in scrapbooking as shown on a previous blog ( 27th May).
In this card I have used Shimmer paper and Frost white shimmer paint. I have used gladwrap bunched up and sponged the card randomly with the paint. Then I have used Marina Mist and Rich razzleberry ink to get the colour using a sponge.
Finally stamped Upsy Daisy over top. Then I have adhered it to the card that has been run through the Big Shot in the tulip embossing folder.
I will show another card that I have used with the Shimmer paint later.

Mothers Day

Last week my dear mother passed away after a long illness. This photo was taken on mothers day (the day before I left to go to Convention in Melbourne). We had decided to have a special afternoon celebrating some big milestones occurring throughout the year. Dads 85th birthday which we did celebrate in June. Mums 80th birthday which we celebrated in August. And the third was 50 years together. Their 50th wedding anniversary would have been in December this year.
Mum so wanted to celebrate her 80th birthday and we are so glad that she did.
The papers I have used here are Love Letters so appropriate for this photo.I have included journelling on the side hidden away on the Top Note.
We're going to miss you mum , you were the best but we know that you are in a better place .

July Scrapbook Page

I am a bit late fo the July Scrapbook page for Crafters Anonymous. But here it is now. We are crop farmers but we have dairy grazers over winter. This year because we had so much feed the cows stayed longer to the point that some started calving. The children were very keen to have a pet calf, and so eventually one born did stay with us. This is Chocolate. Cute wee thing. The children have been enjoying her.

Inlaid butterflies

On Saturday I went up to Christchurch to meet with 4 other friends for a birthday girls only lunch. The 5 of us have birthdays all within 2 months of each other and are the same age. We usually meet when our birthdays end in a '0' or a '5', but this year we met between those numbers as one of the ladies is from Wellington staying in Christchurch for the year.
This is the card that I made for two of the ladies just changing the colours. I had a pile of leftover butterflies from when I had my kids craft day so have used them to make this card . The idea for this card came when I was blog surfing ( sorry not sure whose). The inlaid affect really gives a plain card zing. The other card I used a mixture of blue colours. Have used flowers from the itty bitty punch set.

Christmas Card Class

This month at my card classes we will be making Christmas cards. This card is made from a new stamp set in the new catalogue called Merry and Type.
I have used stampin write markers to colour the image. The papers used are the new lucky lemonade and poppy parade. The embossing folder is Vintage Wallpaper and the sentiments are from Season of Joy stampset.

We woke up this morning to a beautiful winter wonderland. The snow this time quite different from the last storm we had. This snow has settled on the trees are ground and is very soft and powdery. The children had the choice whether to go to school as their bus wasn't running but they opted to go to school by car.Thank goodness.
