Bordering on Romance

At our last team meeting I stamped several images with this stamp set Bordering on Romance to make up at a later date. Its a lovely stamp set great for watercolouring, using blender pens or in this case Stampin write markers.
I have used dsp from Twitterpated. The embossed hearts in the middle are from textered embossing folders in the latest mini. The size you see in the picture is slightly smaller than what they actually are. So they look good going in the centre of your card or along the side with some ribbon in the middle. The Pleated ribbon is Baja Breeze.
Colours are : Island Indigo, Baja Breeze and Rich Razzleberry.

Tissue Holder

I've tried something different from cardmaking and made these tissue holders.
So easy and makes a nice little gift, with Mothers Day coming up.
I found the instructions for them here .
Its a great way to sample the StampinUp fabrics. I've made  a few of these now and have used other scarps of material that I've had to make other colours.
Now I think I'll go back to the card making.

Fancy Flower card

This is one of the cards that we made at my last card class. It was quite fiddly and took awhile to put together but the results were worth it. I demonstarted how to make the flowers from the Fancy flower punch.A few stamps used that are now retired but they worked for this card.

I got the card idea and tutorial from here at Wendy Weixlers blog.

Mothers Day card with ribbon

We made this card at my last card class, using my favourite stamp set again. Field Flowers is such a versatile set and works well for a Mothers Day card.
I have used dsp from Twitterpated in the current mini catalogue.
I have used Rose red 1/4" ribbon. The other colours used are Wisteria and Concord Crush.

Our challenge this week at NZSU is to make a card using ribbon. I can just hear my card class ladies saying I always use ribbon! And how do we make that knot again is it left over right or........
Anyway this is the card that I put up for the challenge.

Shaving Cream Patterns

Last term at Brownies for Easter I made eggs out of cardstock and then got the girls to decorate them using the Shaving Cream technique. As I was practicing to see if the technique would work I swiped some cardstock through with the two different colour combinations. With the plan to make the cards into cards at a later date. So here they are.
Shaving cream technique involves shaving cream and reinkers. You place the cream onto a plate or tray and then put droplets of colour onto the cream. Then with a fork or skewer spread the colours out (like marbling). Then when colour spread and mixed place cardstock on top of the cream where the colours are and next thing you know you have lovely colours on your card and shaving cream. With a sponge cloth gently wipe the cream off the card and there you have it a lovely decorated cardstock.

I have used quite bright colours for these two cards but I think it looks really good with the Apothecary Art stamp set.
This would be fun to do with children and you could probably use ordinary paints.

Kids craft day

I ran a childrens craft day here last week . These are the crafts that we made. The children did really well and enjoyed the crafts that they made. These included a stepper box, pockey wallet album, matchbox, cards and a owl pillow box.
This is one of the cards that I showed the children to make, well they all put their own interpretation on it and they all made something quite different. Thats what I love about children doing crafts, seeing their talents and creativity shining through.

This card is one of the many cards that appeared. My nephew came up with this. Love it. Told him I would have to case it!!
A great day had by all.

Framelit birthday card

Today is my mother in laws 70th birthday. I have made this card for her which is a card from the latest round of UStamp with Dawn. I have completely cased it as I loved the colours and the way the Framelit cutter has been used. Only half was used to cut the Wisteria card stock. The green dsp is from Twitterpated. I liked the way the card has been outlined using free hand using back and white pens.Tghe stamped image in the centre is from Fresh Vintage.
Happy Birthday Nola!

Another Apothecary Art card

Boy I'm loving this new stamp set and the Framelits that go with it. Here is another stamp in the Apothecary art set. Slightly bigger than previous stamp used. Its been good to use my blender pens again as they have been gathering dust for lack of use.The basic gray paper from Twitterpated works well in this card which I have cased.
And the pleated ribbon is also used on this card.

New Mini Launch today

The Autumn/Winter mini catalogue is available from today. Its full of new and exciting products. These include the Simply Scored, great for making boxes, card designs and much much more, the Framelits ( shown in photo above) , new pleated ribbons ( shown on card above) x3 new designer series papers( Twitterpated used in Card above), scented embossing powder and much more.
In the card above I have used a new stamp set called Apothecary Art. It goes well with the Framelits and the dsp Twitterpated. I have used my blender pens to colour the flowers in.
The Baja Breeze pleated ribbon co-ordinates well with this paper.

This card I made for our Team event that we had in Springston yesterday. It was a really good day of sharing and having a chance to play with some of the new products in the mini ( thanks Emma ).Instead of making lots of swaps we all made one item some were cards others were off the page items. We then took photos of each others items. Great idea.
Thanks Rebecca for organising the day.
